Woolloomooloo, Sydney
Everyone deserves a hot meal and a warm welcome.
Who we are
A foundation built on showing up
The Schaffa Foundation is a registered Australian charity supporting the most vulnerable people in our community. We run Street Buffet, feeding people experiencing homelessness and hardship every Sunday at Woolloomooloo.
What started with one man, a folding table and a bag of unwanted clothes has grown into a weekly service, a network of donor kitchens, and a set of programs designed to give people a genuine stepping stone — not just a meal, but confidence and skills for the long haul.
Since Street Buffet began, volunteers have handed over more than one hundred thousand hot meals. Every one of them was paid for by someone who decided this mattered.
Causes · what we need
Our causes right now
Each cause is one specific thing we are short of — a real item, at what it actually costs, with how far along we are. Fund one outright or chip in towards it.

Stay connected
Keep in touch with the table
Two easy ways to stay close to the work — keep your own record of everything you give, or get the newsletter once a month.
Everything you give, in one place
Money, food and volunteer shifts all in one record, along with the paperwork that goes with them. No password to remember: we email you a secure sign-in link.
- Your full giving history, always up to date
- Every tax receipt, ready at tax time
- Volunteer hours signed off, with a letter for a course or an award
- Ask for the Sundays you can make
- Log food and goods you drop off yourself
Our monthly newsletter
Once a month we send a short email about what has been happening at the table, who is helping, and what is still needed. No spam, and you can unsubscribe in one click.

The partners behind every Sunday
We don't do this alone. Sunday in Woolloomooloo isn't one service — it's a chain of them, run by people who coordinate so nobody has to choose between a warm jacket and a hot meal. And behind the scenes, we're being mentored by some of the most respected community organisations in Sydney.

Homeless Not Nameless
The clothing & essentials market, 4pm — right before we serve at 5pm.
Since 2017, Homeless Not Nameless has run a free “market” under the train line every Sunday — new and gently used clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, shoes and toiletries, given with dignity and no judgement. They also pack Wellness Bags for people leaving Long Bay at risk of rough sleeping. It started when a dinner guest asked for a towel, then socks. It grew from there.
